A house for a 'tukang'

The client for this project is a Malay master woodcarver, Adiguru Norhaiza whose intricate woodcarvings infuses Nusantara influences and Malay cultural heritage. As such, the approach was to create a modest space which embraced the contemporary while maintaining strong connections to the Malay vernacular house. The idea was to bring about the client's unique personality in the design of the house.
