During my early years in architecture school, I was often asked one question I could never answer with certainty: Why architecture?

While it's hard to pinpoint the exact reason I fell in love with it, I believe my passion for architecture began around the age of 16 when I was training to be a King's Scout, the highest award of the Scouts Association in Malaysia. Achieving this award required undergoing multiple assessments, including camping, first aid, wayfinding, jungle cooking, knots, and pioneering projects. During the King's Scout evaluation camp, we had to assemble our own equipment, such as makeshift canopy beds, dining tables, clotheslines, shoe racks, and lamp holders. I was fascinated by the various ways to assemble sticks with knots to form structures. In retrospect, I realized I loved building structures from scratch, no matter how small.

This passion led me to choose architecture. It has given me the opportunity to build structures on a larger scale, allowing me to creatively problem-solve using my love for art and design. Throughout my three years of obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, I have learned to see architecture through the eyes of pioneering architects and philosophers. This has deepened my appreciation for architecture and allowed me to connect with it on a profound level.

To me, architecture is not merely a profession; it is a passion, a vocation, a calling. Architects design the world we live in, and as a future architect, I aim to contribute to society and uphold the responsibility of creating better spaces for our community.
